Dear M & M:
Is there any one thing I can do to plan promotional activities for the rest of the year?
Sometimes the easiest solution is the best. Grab yourself a calendar and pick at a minimum one thing you are going to do once a month. Go through each month and take a look at the major holidays that are taking place. Center your marketing theme on that holiday. Let’s take a look at March and see what some of the holidays are.
Not to anyone’s surprise March has been designated as Irish American Month due to Saint Patrick’s Day being held on March 17th. The death date of the most recognized patron saint of Ireland, Saint Patrick. Do a little digging on these national holidays and find out what they are all about. Saint Patrick used to use a green three leaf clover to explain the holy trinity (Father, Son and Holy Ghost).
Green ribbons and shamrocks been associated with the holiday for many years. A promotional idea using Saint Patrick’s Day theme: a free appetizer, a discount or some special offer if you are wearing green for the month of March? March has a few unique holidays we might not be so familiar with, here are a few; Music in our Schools Month, National Craft Month, National Frozen Food Month, National Nutrition Month, National Peanut Month, National Women’s History Month, Red Cross Month and Social Workers Month are a few of the major events celebrated in March.
Here are a few odd and special wacky days celebrated in March that marketing and promotional activities can take place around. Pretty much every day in every month has some special day attached to it today. March Wacky days according to holiday insights are;
