How can I use twitter to market my business?
The main use of twitter in marketing is to drive people to your website. If the content from your website is compelling and has something to offer other people may start tweeting about it directing more people to you. Make sure you link your website as the landing page for all tweets. Using the twitter search tool (http://search.twitter.com) you can search and teach what other people are tweeting about your brand or company. I use HootSuite to monitor what others are saying about my brand. Another tool called BackTweets is literally a twitter time machine that enables you to search through a tweet history for tweets that link back to your site. Twitter is an exceptional way to promote events, campaigns and special promotional offers. Tweetups are a great way to get to know your Twitter community offline. The next time you are having an event or open house, tweet about it get people to come. Creating hashtags for your Tweetup can be beneficial in a couple of ways. A hashtag will collect all the tweets in one place so everyone at the event can easily follow all the conversation in one easy to find location. People who are not at the event can follow or join the conversation without being there. Twitter can be a powerful tool if used correctly to market and brand your company. Tweeting useful and thoughtful tips that are entertaining and practical can establish your company as an expert or leader in your industry or subject matter. There are 554 Million registered twitter users, 135,000 new users signing up daily, over 190 Million unique visitors every month with 2.1 Billion search queries every day.
